1. Introduction
EduLabLoom ("we," "our," or "us") operates the EduLabLoom platform, an AI-powered education SaaS. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your and your students' information when you use our service. We are committed to protecting your privacy and handling data in line with applicable law, including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and, where relevant, the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) in the United States.
2. Data we collect
We may collect:
- Account and profile information (name, email, password, role)
- Payment and billing information (processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers)
- Content you create or upload (classrooms, assignments, documents)
- Student data you provide (e.g. when adding students to classrooms), which we treat as education records where applicable
- Usage data (e.g. features used, logs) to operate and improve the service
- Device and browser information where necessary for security and compatibility
3. How we use your data
We use the data to provide, secure, and improve EduLabLoom; to process payments; to communicate with you (e.g. support, product updates); and to comply with legal obligations. We do not sell your personal data or your students' data. Where we act as a processor (e.g. for school data), we process only as instructed and in line with our agreements and applicable law.
4. Legal basis (GDPR)
For users in the European Economic Area, we rely on: contract (performing our agreement with you); legitimate interests (security, analytics, improvement); consent where we ask for it explicitly; and legal obligation where required.
5. FERPA and student data
Where FERPA applies, we treat student education records in accordance with FERPA and any applicable school agreements. We use student data only to provide the service and as authorized by the educational institution or parent/guardian. We do not use student data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
6. Sharing and disclosure
We may share data with: service providers (hosting, payment, email, analytics) under strict agreements; legal or regulatory bodies when required; or with your consent. We do not sell or rent your data.
7. Retention and security
We retain data as long as needed to provide the service and as required by law. We use appropriate technical and organizational measures (e.g. encryption, access controls) to protect your data.
8. Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, or to object or restrict processing. You can contact us at support@edulabloom.com. If you are in the EEA/UK, you may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
9. Children
EduLabLoom may be used by educators and institutions with students who are minors. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without appropriate consent or school authorization. If you believe we have collected such data in error, please contact us.
10. Changes and contact
We may update this policy from time to time; we will post the revised version on this page and, where appropriate, notify you. For questions or to exercise your rights, contact us at support@edulabloom.com. EduLabLoom is operated by an individual SaaS founder.
